Why is it that race is a big factor in this years Presidential Election? Does the color of one's skin determine how successful they are? Obama has more than showed his ability to lead this country as President. Currently Senator Obama, is just slightly ahead of McCain. But, the race shouldn't be this close. The media proclaims that the color of Obama's skin is the reason he isn't taking the bigger lead. Why should the color of his skin matter? Black American, White American, they both end in American. If this claims to signify justice, freedom, etc why is the tint of the man's skin holding him back. IT SHOULDN'T MATTER. Take a look at the picture I provided below. With a little picture editing they both seem as equals in my eyes so why cant the rest of the world see this also. You would have to be very uneducated if you vote for a person to lead this country based on the color of his skin. Vote for McCain or Obama because you believe in what they say, vote for them because you know its the right thing to do, vote for them because of leadership skills. Don't blind yourself with this black and white stuff. Use your better judgement and vote for the better person.

Well everyone isnt ready for chang.In me eyes i feel like I live in whaite America and not America in general.I think everyone in the United States are all immigrants.From the Asians to the Latinos to black people, and including the white people.We all came from different countries so why is race an obstacle?I just wish people were more open to change because change can be for the better
Have you noticed that mccain usually attacks Obama instead of defending himself? I think that's pointless because he's supposed to be saying why HE is a good candidate, not why OBAMA isn't
THIS IS SO TRUE MIATA AND I THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THAT TO SOCIETY'S REALITY. FOR A MINUTE I THOUGHT PEOPLE WAS STARTING TO THINK THAT'S WHAT THIS ELECTION IS ALL ABOUT. AND THE GRAPHICS FOR THIS BLOG WAS VERY UNIQUE AND COMPARABLE.
i think your so right people need to quit judging by color and start judging for whats right and help our country be a better place
i understand about the whole race and siscrimination thing no one should be judge by someone else. Bt i would b awesome to have a black president
I would like to ask a question in a "devil's advocate" sort of way. What do we look for when we date? Do we look for height, looks, weight, shape, etc.? How many of us tried something different in high school? A sport, drama classes, student government? When we go to church, who do the people look like? Do they look like us? We want to say there should be no more racism. I agree. The question is "How do we get rid of racism?" We need to break the system. We need to challenge ourselves first. We need to try new and different things. We need to make sure we are worthy of being rewarded with the opportunity for these new things. Getting a degree is a major step toward making yourself worthy. Secondly, we need to respect the things we want for ourselves. The first person to do something usually has a tremendous amount of respect for their own achievement. It is the ones that come after that show no respect. For all of the people who do not like to practice shows you have no respect for the sport or job you are doing. Practice makes us better......much better! Third, we need to focus on the prize. Everything we do should lead toward what we want to achieve. If you want to be a doctor in the 8th grade, you should be sure to learn biology and chemistry. If you want to be a politician, speech class, debate teams, community service are things that should be in your itinerary daily. If your plan is for 8 years, every day of those 8 years should be leading toward your destination. Earlier, I asked some questions? Most people look to what is familiar to them. Whether it is for a friend, a job, a referral, etc. we look first at what is familiar. the only thing that outshinies familiarity is preparedness. We have to prepare ourselves to fight racism by being prepared to achieve what we want. How many of us are prepared or are we just lip service?
i Agree. But no matter what is seems like there are always going to be those close minded people out there that would rather see a white male as president. Rather than a black male or even a female of any race.
i agree with frizzy girl... some people are just not ready... and you can't blame the economy and the war on george bush because we as the voting population decided he was the best for the job as president... we can't expect a change if we don't vote for one.
